I was out on my second run the other morning after a good, long break.

Truth: I’ve really gotten off my game!!

Truth: When I went, it was hot and I was all WHINY about it.

Whiny sounded like…

“I don’t like being in the heat. It’s hard and I’m so out of shape. This sucks. Wah, wah, wah. You’ve always been the chubby one, is that ever going to change?!”

Whoa!! We all have that internal critical voice but I was really surprised by that last bit… about always being the chubby one.

Some of you may know that I ran a marathon last year. I accomplished this HUGE thing in my life, and still, I catch myself thinking like this. Reiterating an old belief structure, over and over again.

Do you know what this does?

It makes what I want that much harder!!

There were actual times where I slowed down and stopped running—not because I needed a run break or because I was on some run/walk methodology to build up my capacity—but because I was shutting myself down with what I was saying to myself.

There was an actual physical response to the mental negativity. So interesting! (Not the first time that I’ve noticed that BUT STILL… it’s always fascinating to see it in action.)

What I realized is it takes a while to make a transformation when you’re going against such a core belief.

What I’m saying is that in order to step up in your life, you have to face when you’ve stepped away or stepped down or gone blind and checked out.

What I’m saying is that, sure, there were a lot of good reasons for me to stop running. There was a health issue. But now, it’s time again because I want to be a runner.

I don’t know what it is for you, but I bet there is something inside of you that is calling you forward, and then there’s another voice in your head that’s saying, “You’ve always been the chubby girl. You can’t do that. Wah, wah, wah.”

Maybe it’s, “I’m not so good at business.” I heard that the other day from someone who’s freaking killing it in business. Yeah, she wants to go bigger. She wants to be extraordinary. But, in her head, that’s what she was saying.

What is the voice in your head saying? What do you have to do to confront that?

The Universe Meets You Halfway

What happens when you get out of your own way and get into action?

The Universe meets you halfway.

Case in point… a woman joined my Bootcamp program not too long ago. She’d been in a lull and hadn’t been in action for awhile. In fact, she’d been downright stalled out.

But she decided… I’m doing this! I’m claiming my future. I’m getting help.

What happens next?

The day after she signs up, I got this… “After signing up, three people have reserved their spot for a website building webinar I’m doing. I’d planned on canceling it, but forgot to take it down! I guess the Universe is trying to tell me something.”

Two days later, someone booked in to talk about working with her.

This is NOT an anomaly.

The Universe will meet you halfway, but you’ve got to get on the field.

You’ve got to take action.

The other day, I suggested a small tweak to a client’s plan that basically said… don’t wait, do it now. She gets a new booking. Immediately. Not next week, not in a month. Same day.

This happens ALL THE TIME.

I’ve had women book their seat at my Summit, then tell me they received new bookings and payments. The other day, I had a conversation with a potential client about her plan and told her to go for it. It was all in place, she didn’t have to wait. The result? $17k launch. One week.

It’s not magic.

It’s stepping forward in confidence and faith. It’s making a claim for what you want. It’s spotting the opportunities and going for it. It’s doing the work and getting out of the way.

And it works.

So… how will you get into action today?

Tolerations are one way that we continually sabotage our growth and success.

Because tolerations keep us small. They keep us in old ways of being, or in relationships and obligations that don’t truly serve us in calling in what we desire.

Nothing needs to be tolerated… yet, I’m sure you’ll find that when you get really honest, you’re actually tolerating a lot.

Are you tolerating…

  • Non-ideal or drama loving clients or team.
  • Not making enough money or not charging enough.
  • Not doing what you really want to do.
  • Not taking action and therefore not growing.
  • Not having the right support you need.
  • Not taking the vacations you want to take.
  • Not enough down time or time for what you love.

Or maybe, for you, it looks like tolerating…

  • Toxic people.
  • Confusion or indecision about what to do next.
  • Paralysis, perfectionism, or procrastination.
  • Invisibility, not putting yourself out there.
  • Anxiety, worry, and doubt.
  • Writer’s block.
  • Overwhelm and burnout.

And in your life, it might look like tolerating…

  • Unsupportive partners or family members.
  • An unsatisfying sex life or hating how your body looks.
  • An uninspiring or ugly home environment.
  • Clothing that’s just meh or bad hair days.

And the list goes on and on. You get the idea. Toleration.

Is that really okay? I’m sure you believe you can make the argument that it is… but I’m arguing that it’s NOT. It’s not okay because it’s time to step into MORE.

It’s time to claim what you want and really go for it.

Choose ONE thing that your are NO LONGER going to tolerate. Today.

Choose one thing. Do it now. Your life will forever be changed.

What’s it going to be?

What Focus IS And Is NOT…

Do ever feel like you have to harden, disconnect, or get rigid and tense in order to “make sh*t happen”?

Is this what focus means to you? Is it like cutting off a part of you that wants to play? That’s sensual, open, and expansive?

Now focus is essential. No way around that if you want to achieve your big goals and dreams.

However, there’s a way to integrate a state of open-hearted delight and enjoyment while you do your work.

Focus is simply staying on task without distraction.

  • You can do this while you enjoy yourself.
  • You can do this while you have a full sense of your body and the environment around you.
  • You can do this ease.

Being able to focus is a skill you need to move the needle in your business… but that doesn’t mean you have to harden or become rigid.

I focus like crazy, yet I’m almost always in joy and delight.

I use my will to make things happen, but I stay soft and as aligned with ease as possible.

I show up as a powerhouse in my work, while I stay connected to the truth of who I am.

I command an amazing team, but I regularly do so from a place of fun and play.

I’m focused, yes. I’m using my will, yes.

But I’m not hardened, rigid, or tense.  It’s not only about a ‘put your head down and just grind it out’.

It’s about behind directed, focused, and goal oriented, without losing the feminine. The fluid, creative, soft energy that makes us who we are as women.

The next time you find yourself avoiding focus because it feels too tense and hard for you, flip the script.

CHOOSE a different thought pattern around what it means to focus. Ask yourself what would make it more playful, easy, and filled with delight? How can you soften and still focus?

Focus is a must to move the needle, but it doesn’t have to be hardened, rigid, or tense. ;-)

Comparing Yourself To Others? How To Make It Work

Are you comparing your business to other people’s? Do you worry about where you “should be” vs where you are right now?

More importantly… do you know what it means that you’re doing this?

It’s actually a clever way that your subconscious mind gets you to stop moving beyond your safe, comfort zone of known experience.

Translation: it stops you from taking the necessary steps to grow your own business.

All you have to do is look at the results of these thoughts to understand how this process works.

What happens directly after you compare yourself to another person who’s further ahead of you or doing what you want to do, but haven’t yet manifested in your life?

Do you feel bad and check out in some way? Do you comfort eat… distract yourself… take a nap… clean out the closet, do laundry, or do some sort of busy work in your business?

Or do you go into spin out action, trying to do everything now but not getting real traction on anything of significance?

Chances are you do something other than the work you need to be doing right now at this stage in your business.

You don’t write that email or put together the big proposal. You don’t make the sales call or do your follow-up. You don’t create the video or do your marketing.

You definitely don’t have good, delightful energy around your business that makes you want to show up powerfully every day!!

Here’s what to do inside instead when you feel comparison gut you.

Notice these thoughts, be aware of them, and acknowledge them. “Ahhh, this is where I want to be going.”

Then remind yourself to DO THE WORK FROM WHERE YOU’RE AT.

Hold your vision for the future like a carrot. Let it guide you forward, yes. But do the work where you’re at right now.

Stop comparing yourself to someone else’s progress. Stop trying to bypass the necessary steps. Be where you are and do the work from that point FIRST. What is it that you need to be working on right now? Go do that.

The more quickly you’re able to do this, the more quickly your quantum leap will happen.

You can’t get to where you want to be without taking the steps from where you are now. There’s no bypassing this. :-)

How to Juggle Everything

There’s a lot going on right now.

I’m traveling a lot and I’m juggling a lot more! There’s a TON happening in my business right now that I’m so excited about. Like most women in business, there’s a ton to do… there are marketing campaigns to work on, team to manage and meet with, client support to handle, research and learning, implementing new systems and processes, sales conversations, etc.

It’s a bit of a juggling act, am I right?!

Sometimes it can get overwhelming and you go into a headspace of, “oh my gosh, I have so much to do, how will I get it all done? I’m overwhelmed!”

Now, I have to say that I had a little bit of that the other day. Not a whole lot, but I could feel it kind of edging up. I thought, “Okay. Well, how do we handle this? Do we abdicate? Do we freak out?” No, of course not. Right? What good would that do?

I want to give you two ways to work through this, because spinning out about having too much to do is an energy leak. It’s actually taking more energy than just getting things done.

First, action solves a lot. I’m not talking about spin-out action, but the “I’m going to sit down right now and bang some things out” action. One of the best ways to get into action is to do the easy things first.

Get some momentum. Respond to five emails in your inbox. Make that one call. Button up that one small project. That’s one way to get into momentum.

Second, do the thing you’re resisting first. This is a completely different strategy and you have to use discernment to know which one you need… but if there’s something you’re resisting doing right now, it’s sapping you of your energy and making you overwhelmed and uncomfortable. Go do it now.

So do what you need to do today. Bang it out.

Don’t overdo it, but don’t resist doing it. Take that action. Get into momentum. #BeUnstoppable
